NERC CIP

NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection) is a set of requirements designed to secure the assets required for operating North America's bulk electric system. This plan coordinates all of NERC’s efforts to secure the North American power grid, which includes the development of standards, enforcement of compliance requirements. It also helps to assess risk and readiness, and broadcasts information and raises awareness about security issues and threats. Penalties for non-compliance for entities covered under NERC include fines and sanctions.
